Authorities in the Australian state of Victoria are conducting an extensive search for a 12-year-old boy who went missing while swimming at a well-known beach on Sunday, 25 January. Police identified the boy as Danny, a resident of Taylors Hill, a suburb of Melbourne. He was last seen in the water at No 4 Beach in Venus Bay at approximately 11:30 a.m. local time before his family lost sight of him, prompting immediate concern and reporting to emergency services.
Victoria Police coordinated the response after being notified shortly after 1 p.m., deploying multiple units and support agencies. The search has involved the police Air Wing, the Water Police Squad, the Coast Guard, the State Emergency Service, and Life Saving Victoria, with members of the public also assisting in the early stages of the efforts.
